Ripple

This project won first place in the USC Architectural Guild Charette competition. (Project Team: Katie Hayes, Lucy Lyu, and Abri Aiken.)

Ripple attempts to produce active changes in society through its programming and architecture of a new cultural hub in DTLA. The bold moves create a ripple effect that will impact all users and the future of the cityscape.

The project is meant to project a rippling effect that will impact the lives of the users interacting with the space, as well as the public landscape to be more focused on the community. The streetscape emphasizes greenery and encourages community eā€¦

Our project introduces an exciting street experience and here you can see an affordable housing addition to the library.

In the future, it will be filled with greenery, the parking structure will be converted into a navigation center for people experiencing homeless and the main entrance to the incubation center will exist here.

Outside of the library, art installations decorate the public space and are interactive and educational, illuminating the narratives of all cultures.

There is also an amphitheater to the incubation basement. In the distance, a food bank with a green rooftop creates a welcoming environment for all.
