Affordable Housing

This housing project is about facilitating interaction through intersection. Three single-loaded, slab buildings are intersected by a transparent volume which serves as the main social hub of the project containing amenity spaces and circulation. The buildings step down from west to east to reduce mass toward the neighborhood. The three buildings each contain a separate unit type: one for single resident occupancy, one two bedroom, and one for three bedroom units. The units are organized along a common diagonal which prevent the units from directly facing each other, allows for better daylight exposure, and creates patio spaces. The various gardens between the spaces help to purify the air from the major highway to the east.
